November 5, 2015: New Driver’s License, Illinois

November 5, 2015: 4 years have passed since I moved to US for the second time, and I renewed my driver's license today. 

Comparing this driver's license and my old expired one received during my previous assignment in U.S, I really feel that such a long period of over 20 years has passed very fast !!

August 13, 2020: Visit to graves of the Sogo family & September 5, 2020: 3rd Anniversary Memorial Service of Hisa Sogo

Aug.13, 2020: Visited graves of the Sogo family in intense heat, as a Japanese custom during Obon. The third mourning of my wife is coming soon. My relegion is a Japanese Zen Buddhism sect called Soto. The Soto sect in Japan was introduced by Dogen. In the Soto sect, meditators face a wall of Zendo hall and sit in lotus position. Life is full of ups and downs, and I will just keep moving forward with the spirit of Daruma. “Fall seven times and up eight times !!”   In the Soto sect of Zen, “Living each day like one’s last”.
